The Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) will be organising a Technology Acquisition Mission to LIGNA in Hannover, Germany, from 20 to 28 May 2017. The aim of the mission is to expose Malaysian wood product manufacturers to the latest technologies in the woodworking and wood processing sectors.
This year, LIGNA offers innovative creations that are in line with the current automation trend of Industry 4.0. Among the exhibits are an array of intelligent and integrated manufacturing systems that have been incorporated into the value-adding networks of production lines.
LIGNA will also once again host the Wood Industry Summit – a major highlight in the primary processing industry’s annual calendar. The “summit” comprises the exhibition, a forum and matchmaking hub. The forum will highlight topics of international interest with experts from Germany, Austria, Canada, Russia, Sweden and Spain giving presentations. Forum participation is free of charge for visitors and advance registration is not required.
With over 1,500 exhibitors from all over the world, LIGNA occupies the entire 120,000 square metres of exhibition space where fair visitors’ needs can be met easily.
MTC would like to invite industry members to participate in the fair as well as take part in a programme which will include factory visits, among others. MTC will also provide 50% sponsorship on airfare and hotel accommodation as well as for the cost of freight charges up to a maximum of two (2) forty-footer container high cube per company for the purchase of machinery and equipment (see application form).
